Choosing your fence
When installing a fence, it’s always a smart move to check your Homeowners Association (HOA) guidelines to see if your property is within one. HOAs often have specific rules regarding fence materials, height, style, and placement to ensure that everything fits within the community’s aesthetic and standards.
Some common HOA fence guidelines include:
Height Restrictions: There may be limits on how tall your fence can be to maintain visibility and prevent blocking views.
Material Restrictions: Some HOAs may have preferences for specific materials, like aluminum, wood, or vinyl, or may restrict certain types.
Style and Color: The style and color of your fence may need to match others in the neighborhood to keep a cohesive look.
Setback Requirements: The fence may need to be set back a certain distance from property lines or sidewalks.
Approval Process: Most HOAs require submitting a request or getting approval before installation.
